  • Of course, I love anything ec0-friendly that can be incorporated into a wedding.  It’s a fantastic way to decrease your carbon footprint. Julianne Smith via Budget Savvy Bride The Budget Savvy Bride recently featured eco-friendly garters by Julianne Smith.  Julianne creates a wide array of grosgrain ribbon garters to match your style and colors.  But she recently added four new garters to her collection, which happen to be green (as in eco-friendly).  The material is made from recycled plastic bottles!  And they look just as chic as the rest of her collection! • Go Green Monday here. Instead of talking about eco-friendly living; I’d like to show how you can green your business event. In August 2007 we were the planners for the Energy Summit for Southwest Indiana. Not quite a ‘green event’ we did make strides in providing green resources for attendees considering the subject of the Summit was conserving and using renewable resources for local businesses. The Summit took place at The Centre in downtown Evansville. A beautiful, multi-million dollar facility; we took advantage of there huge stage for the speakers. We were lucky enough to have the s...

  • Fern & Ben organised their eco wedding themselves with the help of their families. Fern’s uncle even made the gorgeous cake. Everything from the invitations (recycled paper with hand-pressed flowers) to the ring bearer’s pillow (Fern sewed it herself) was a DIY job. Ben even designed Fern’s engagement ring from eco-friendly jewelers (rose gold with a single chocolate diamond.)  They chose to get married on the land where Fern was born. The material for the gorgeous napkins were all different patterns and colours and every table had a sharpie at it so the napkins could act as a g...

Filed under: Ceremonies, Green Weddings Confetti is fun and attractive, but we all know it's messy, it's a pain to clean up, and it's environmentally unfriendly. Bubbles are slippery, rice is now suspect, and birdseed, while better for the environment, is every bit as hard to clean up if it gets indoors. Which is where ecofetti comes in. As the name suggests, it's eco-friendly. Though the site doesn't say what ecofetti is made of, it does assure us it's entirely biodegradable. Ecofetti is sold in cones or envelopes, and comes in vibrant colors as pictured above, or the pastels you see below. ...

Got a glimpse of these pretty eco-friendly blossoms by Michele Brand over at iDiY. What a GREAT idea! And they look so dreamy in those long strands. I like it...so inventive and creative. A great idea to share on Earth Day.They are made out of the bottoms of plastic beverage containers. She must have had one hell-of-an exacto knife as cutting through plastic is tricky!...

Smart, eco-friendly, fun... That's how I would describe these shoes here, found on Terra Plana. Each one incorporates recycled materials, such as a recycled rubber sole, and is made from locally sourced materials whenever possible....
